It's All About Me!

First of all, I am “old school.” I have adapted to many new rules and regulations. I am constantly checking on myself and my use of the English language along with the grammatical changes and rules. That set aside, my corporate work history has always put me in the position of proofreading. Whether it be e-mail, brochures, meeting agenda, technical writing, pretty much anything that was asked of me, has always involved with having an eye out for perfection or, rather, the closest I could come to it!

I grew up in the 1950’s, yes, that does date me, but it also lets you know that I have had over 50 years of experience. Business fields in which I have been deeply involved include, but are not limited to: real estate, veterinary medicine, ranching, accounting, dental, photography, telecom, postal service, and private business. Volunteer/service fields that I have expertly worked in: evangelical outreach, church worship team, teaching, community programs, fire department, backcountry horseman, security, hiking trail maintenance, and Panamanian spay/neuter clinics.

I am a Bible thumping, born-again, God-fearing and God-praising Christian, and that WILL affect my editing and proofing, so keep that in mind. I have lived in many different parts of the U.S.: New Mexico, Colorado, Montana, New York, and currently in Northern California. Previous work has taken me to the Bahamas, Hawaii, Mexico, Canada, and Costa Rica. I am of Finnish/German descent but am 100% American.

There have always been animals in my life. I not only speak English but I also speak dog, horse, African Grey, cat, chicken, and an occasional snake conversation. Snake and coyote tongue, are very short-lived. Please take these languages of mine in a “tongue and cheek” fashion and not literally.

If you have not realized it yet, I have a dry sense of humor, but I do have one! And, as I hope you suspect, I want your writing to be “you” from beginning to end. I will not attempt to change you in any way, that is not why I am here. I desire that your writings hold your personality, your loves, your heart and soul and, God forbid, that I would ever be one to alter what God has created.

Now, let’s have some fun and get that book, or whatever it is that you are writing, another set of eyes. Let's get it out to the people: those who do not realize how much they are looking forward to experiencing your gift, those who await your life-changing experience that they may have because YOU have a desire to share!
